NAEYC ACCREDITED:
Ensuring the quality of children's daily experiences in early childhood programs and promoting positive child outcomes is the goal of the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria. NAEYC accredited programs invest in early childhood education because they believe in the benefits to children and families.  Early childhood experiences—from birth to age 8—have an enormous impact on children’s lifelong learning and positively contribute to their health and development.  Early childhood education programs with the mark of quality benefit children with greater readiness for and success in school.

The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) has focused on creating opportunities for the commonwealth’s youngest children to develop and learn to their fullest potential. This goal is accomplished through a framework of supports and systems that help ensure that children and their families have access to high quality services. OCDEL is jointly overseen by the Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Education.

Curriculum:
Our curriculum is a flexible framework that has evolved from over 167 years of experience and knowledge that our staff brings to the classrooms. Happy well adjusted children are eager to learn. We encourage children to explore, investigate, problem solve, create and develop ideas individually and in small groups. From infancy through school age children enjoy interesting activities in art, music, dance, whole language, reading, math, literacy, science, social studies and health and safety. The spacious playgrounds encourage balance, coordination, climbing, creative play, gardening, woodworking, and team sports as the children grow and develop.

The Creative Curriculum we implement uses an environmentally based approach and focuses on the importance of the role of the teacher in connecting content, intention teaching, and learning for children.  There are 21 learning objectives for infants & toddlers and 50 learning objectives for ages 3-5. www.creativecurriculum.net

Ages and Stages is a developmental screening tool we complete on all new children within 45 days of enrollment.  The five areas screened are: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social.  If the need arises Ages and Stages also has a social-emotional questionnaire.

Through Ounce Scale and Work Sampling our parents can view their child’s assessment twice a year as results are discussed during Parent Teacher conferences. The Ounce Scale is an observational assessment designed for infants & toddlers.  Ounce Scale looks at six areas of development. The areas of development are: personal connections, feelings about self, relationships with other children, understanding and communicating, exploration and problem solving, and movement and coordination.  The Work Sampling System is a performance assessment for children ages three through fifth grade.  Through documentation and assessment, the Work Sampling System looks at children’s skills, knowledge, behavior, and accomplishments in a variety of curriculum areas to foster teaching and learning. School Age: Kreative Kids Before and After School and Summer Fun Camp:
Our extraordinary world culture curriculum provides hands on experiences for children to develop to their fullest potential cognitively, emotionally, and socially. The curriculum is designed to build positive self esteem and encourage respectful and responsible behavior in all children.  Opportunities for our children to make a difference in the lives of others are evident in our community connectedness. Maximum group size: 36 students with 3 teachers. Summer Fun Brochure.
